West Ham Looking For Strikers

21 July 2013 - 18:33

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan said that the Hammers are looking to bring in another striker before the transfer window closes. Sullivan revealed that the club is in desperate need of strikers and not defenders.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Club boss Sam Allardyce does not have the luxury of choices in the attacking division as Carlton Cole, Marouane Chamakh and Wellington are no longer at West Ham. Moreover the new signee Andy Carroll, who sealed his move to the club from Liverpool, is likely to miss the start of the season due to a foot injury.<br />

"We need goal scorers not defenders," Sullivan said in reply to the questions about defensive targets.<br />

"We are happy with the rest of the team. All we need now is pace and goals."<br />

Moreover he also revealed that he would be happy to have Scott Parker in squad if there’s place.<br />

"We have to focus wages on strikers due to wage cap but would love Scott back if there was room."
