French newspaper L'Equipe reported that Atlético Mineiro have accepted a £21m bid from the Gunners for Bernard, but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied talk of a move for the player.
Bernard AnÃcio Caldeira Duarte who is commonly known as Bernard was rumoured to have had a medical in North London on Friday. The youngster has already featured for the Brazilian National team during the FIFA Confederations Cup held in June. Â
His performances alongside fellow teammate Ronaldinho has enlightened up large amounts of interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Shaktar Donetsk and FC Porto.
The youngster is still plying his trade for Atlético Mineiro at the Copa Libertadores and will play his last game for the Brazilian side on Wednesday against Olimpia Asuncion.
However, Arsenal manager has insisted that no deal will be completed and said after a 3-1 against Nagoya Grampus Eight: "That report is not true."
