Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini plans to sign more players

26 July 2013 - 08:15

Despite completing signings for Fernandinho, Stevan Jovetic, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo, Manchester City's manager Manuel Pellegrini is hopeful that more players will agree to join the Citizens ahead of the new season.

 • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
 • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
 • City have been linked with a centre back to partner Vincent Kompany, and Real Madrid defender Pepe is the strong favourite to make a move to City.
Pellegrini confirmed that more players would be arriving soon: "The club has spent money on important players, like Stevan and Negredo.
"But we must remind you that last year there was Balotelli and Tevez, so we had to replace two very good players with another two very good players.
"So, we have the month of July and some days of August to finish the squad completely. It's not absolutely complete, but it's very near to being complete."
