16 August 2013 - 09:23

Manchester United's pursuit of a new midfielder has seen them turn their attentions to Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil. The Germany international, who arrived at Real from Werder Bremen in 2010, is very much considered an important member of the first team by new Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.

  • The 24-year-old has played over 100 games for Real Madrid since his move and Man Utd are expected to be firmly told that they should forget their pursuit of the attacking midfielder.<br />

Man Utd have been pushing to sign Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas this summer but have already had three offers turned down for the midfielder. Ozil, who has been compared to Zinedine Zidane, has also been told that he will be staying put at the Bernebeu.
