Stoke after Rennes striker Mevlüt Erdinç

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes looks to once more reinforce his squad this summer, with Turkish striker Mevlut Erdinc seemingly his target and is willing to pay about £5m to secure his services. He would be The Potter's 4th signing this summer, after Marc Muniesa, Erik Pieters, and Alex Grant.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • The 26 year old Turkey international scored 15 goals in 45 appearances since moving from Paris St Germain to Rennes last summer.

This comes in the wake of the lacklustre performance by Stoke's attack in their first game of the season, which they only lost 1-0 thanks to a heroic performance by in demand goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

Hughes would want to complete a deal for the striker before the transfer deadline on the 2nd September, with only Kenwyne Jones and Peter Crouch being the recognised strikers in the squad.
