French midfielder is reported to be close to a return to former club Arsenal, after being released by AC Milan at the end of last season following the expiry of his contract at the club he moved to from Arsenal in 2008.
The central midfielder made 96 league appearances for Milan, scoring 7 goals in the process during his 5 year stay.
Flamini comes as Arsene Wenger has been repeatedly frustrated in the transfer market this summer, after missing out on top midfield priority Luiz Gustavo, who moved to Wolfsburg from Bayern Munich.
Wenger is still working on deals to bring in Real Madrid duo Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria to bolster his squad.
