Borussia Dortmund announce record profits

Beaten Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have announced record profits of €53.3m for the 2012/2013 season. The club's net earnings were €34.3m, with a further €19m as profit for the last fiscal year.

  • Dortmund were on the verge of bankrupticy in 2005, and have transformed substantially since then, winning back to back titles and becoming genuine title contenders. 



    The club's revenues have increased from €215.2 million to €305 million, boosted by the sales of Ivan Perisic to Wolfsburg and Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich, which landed them €37m. 



    The club's salaries expense rose from €74.5 million to €99.8 million, and club director claims that the club is now virtually debt free after paying off all debts related to making them survive in 2005.
