Manchester United have enquired about the availability of Spanish attacking midfielder Juan Mata, after reports that Chelsea are all but done with signing of Brazilian sensation Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala.
The signing of Willian would mean that Mata would fall further in Chelsea's pecking order, with Eden Hazard, Oscar, Ramires, Lampard and Kevin De Bruyne all seemingly getting more chances to play than him already.
United manager David Moyes is still looking to strengthen his midfield after a frustrating summer which saw him miss out on Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini.
Mata arrived from Valencia 2 years ago and has performed exceptionally for Chelsea. He is a graduate of Real Madrid's youth system.
