Juventus beat resilient Sampdoria

24 August 2013 - 23:32

Summer signing Carlos Tevez clinched an opening day league win for his new team against Sampdoria, continuing the scoring start to his Juventus career.

  • Chelsea star to miss FA Cup final with hamstring injury
  • Chelsea to move for Bendegúz Kovács?
  • His tap in from close range after a pass from Frenchman Paul Pogba was far from magnificent but did the job for Antonio Conte's team as they look to win their third straight scudetto title. <br />

Andrea Pirlo, Mirko Vucinic and Kwadwo Asamoah all had chances denied by Sampdoria goalkeeper Junior Costa. Sampdoria didn't have any chances of note, with the exception of the disallowed goal after a freekick by Andrea Costa went in, only for the linesman to flag for offside and ruin the subsequent celebrations.
