Manchester City's manager Manuel Pellegrini is considering a move for Porto's defender Eliaquim Mangala. Chelsea were favourites to sign the French defender, but City could jump ahead of their Premier League rivals for Mangala's coveted signature.
The French international defender has attracted the interest of some of Europe's biggest clubs of late, with numerous impressive displays at the heart of Porto's defence. Despite City already having agreed a deal in principle to sign Martin Demichelis, the club are still hopeful that they can bring in even more reinforcements in the defensive department.<br />
The defender has been targeted due to the injury to star player and captain Vincent Kompany.
