Tottenham eye Fabio Coentrao loan deal

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas will continue his busy summer with a loan deal for Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao. The Portugal international will arrive at White Hart Lane on loan as part of the deal that will see Gareth Bale head to Spain.

Spurs are desperate to land a left back before the end of the transfer window and it appears Coentrao is the preferred choice. The player, who is comfortable playing in defence or in midfield, has been told he is free to leave Madrid.<br />

However, Real Madrid want to have an option to bring the Portuguese star back to Spain at the end of this current season, so a permanent deal to Tottenham appears to be unlikely.
