Ki Sung-Yueng relishing Sunderland loan chance

08 September 2013 - 18:31

South Korea international Ki Sung-Yueng, who recently moved to Sunderland on a season long loan from Swansea City, is excited at the prospect of playing regular football.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The 24 year old was impressive for the Swans last season and Michael Laudrup was keen on keeping the Asian playmaker at the club this season. However, he failed to guarantee him regular first team football which eventually led him to push for a loan move away frm Swansea.

"I'm very pleased to join Sunderland and also I heard a lot of good things about them, so I'm looking forward to playing football with them," he told the Sunderland Echo.

Ki also heaped praise on the Black Cats manager Paolo di Canio and is looking forward to work with him.

"I know that the manager has done interviews in which he has said good things about me, which gives me a lot of confidence.

"When I was a kid, I saw him playing and I'm really looking forward to working with him as a manager of this team."
