Emmanuel Adebayor content to stay at Tottenham Hotspur

09 September 2013 - 05:09

Togo International Emmanuel Adebayor has insisted that he has no intention of leaving Tottenham Hotspur in the near future.

  • Chelsea defender opens talks with Saudi club
  • Chelsea make Marc Cucurella transfer decision

  • The tall and lanky forward is relishing the prospect of fighting for his place in the starting line up following the summer recruits of Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela.

He told All Africa.com :"I decided with my manager, even before the start of the transfer window that I would not leave Tottenham and that's what I did.

"I have never thought of leaving Spurs. I am here, my family feels great here and I do not see myself in another city.

He refused to compare himself with the likes of Jermaine Defoe, when asked about the competition at the club.

He added :"Today I will not tell you that I'm stronger than Soldado or Defoe or Lamela.

"We now have four in the attack, I do not know who ranks first, second or third but I know at the end I will be the first and it is the most important."
