Manchester United manager David Moyes has sent scouts to monitor French wizard Antoine Griezmann in action. The Real Sociedad winger has attracted the interest of Arsenal, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco in recent months.

  • The 22-year-old, who is most comfortable playing on the wing but also as a central midfielder, helped Real Sociedad to Champions League qualification last season and is very highly rated in La Liga. Numerous scouts have been monitoring the player in action but it is understood that Manchester United are the new favourites to sign the player who is under contract with Sociedad until 2016.

Griezmann has been with his current club since 2005, when he arrived in Spain as a youth player from France. The French under-21 international is expected to challenge for international honours this year and could be a member of Didier Deschamps' squad for the World Cup next year.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has been on the receiving end of some criticism for his transfer policies in the summer and United fans are hoping that the Scot will be active come January. It is understood that Griezmann could well be United's top target.
