Thomas Vermaelen hints at Arsenal exit

15 October 2013 - 07:22

Arsenal centre-back Thomas Vermaelen has hinted that he will consider his future come January, if he fails to break into the Gunners starting line-up.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The talented defender who is set to start for Belgium against Wales at home on Tuesday,  says that he will re-assess his situation with the North London outfit, if he remains on the bench till January.

Vermaelen is keen on playing first-team football in order to earn a starting berth with the Belgian national side in Brazil next year, having qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 12 years.

However, the central partnership of  Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker has made the club's captain fall down the pecking order at the Emirates.

Thomas Vermaelen is expected to wait until the January transfer window to decide on where his future would lie.
