Newcastle United closing on on loan deal for Wilfried Zaha

17 November 2013 - 05:47

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has moved a step closer to securing a loan transfer deal to sign England international winger Wilfried Zaha. The youngster has already been told he is free to leave Old Trafford by manager David Moyes.

  • Newcastle are hopeful that they will be able to agree a deal to sign Zaha in January as they already have an excellent working relationship with Man Utd, particularly with Sir Alex Ferguson, who still remains involved with behind the scenes work at United.

Zaha himself is desperate to play regular first team football as playing in the World Cup for England remains his ambition and the winger will pursue a short term transfer in pursuit of an international squad place.

Crystal Palace were also linked with a loan transfer deal for Zaha, but the youngster's former club have been told that the winger has no interest in a return to London.

Newcastle, on the other hand, are ready to pay the youngster's full salary until the end of the season and Zaha is already excited about the prospect of linking up with Pardew at St James' Park.
