Advocaat expects Strootman to one day join Man Utd

Manchester United will one day sign midfielder Kevin Strootman, according to the former Netherlands national team manager Dick Advocaat. The Roma player has been in impeccable form this season in Serie A as his club have surged to the top of the league table.

 • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
 • Manchester United had been linked with a move for Strootman last summer but failed in their efforts after Sir Alex Ferguson retired and new manager David Moyes decided against making a move for the youngster. United will be regretting that now though, as Strootman has excelled in Serie A under Rudi Garcia at Roma.
However, former national team manager Advocaat expects United one day make another move for the player. Advocaat said: "It frankly surprised me that he did not get to the absolute top last summer and was on the side a little.
"I do not think he will stay at Roma that long. If Kevin is at this level, he will be plucked away, and then it will be a team of the calibre of Manchester United.”
