Tottenham considering move for Real starlet Alvaro Morata

26 November 2013 - 08:32

Tottenham's search for a new striker could see them plump for a loan deal for Real Madrid's talented youngster Alvaro Morata. The 21-year-old has so far only played in 1 game for the Bernabeu side this season.

  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?
  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • With talk of a potential departure for both Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor in the January transfer window, Spurs' manager Andre Villas-Boas is busy looking for reinforcements and it is understood that Tottenham have the first option on a young player at Real Madrid as part of a deal that took Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. Morata has impressed when called upon in Real's first team and the 6 foot 3 forward has so far scored 4 goals in 23 appearances for his club. At under-21 level, his record is a little more impressive, having scored 12 goals in 11 games and 11 goals in 13 games for the under-19 side.

Spurs are hopeful that a January loan deal can be agreed and that the player will agree to move to London to fight with fellow countryman Roberto Soldado as the first choice forward at White Hart Lane.
