Argies have superb lineup

Argies have superb lineup

17 November 2007 - 12:24

Argentina go into their qualifying match with Bolivia playing three strikers that could take the world by storm. Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi link up in an impressive Argentina side; reminding the world just how talented their youth development is.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Carlos Tevez, Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero have all started the season in scintillating form for their respective club sides and it seems Basile is keen to go with three small, quick and skillful players up front for this game.

Juan Riquelme will sit behind the three forwards, with Esteban Cambiasso and Javier Mascherano doing the holding in midfield.

Nothing less than a victory will be accepted by Argentina, who play Bolivia who have only one point in the group.

Riquelme spoke of Argentina's fans: "The supporters are like that in Argentina ... it's never good enough," he told reporters.

"Against Chile, they said it would be difficult, then they complained that after going 2-0 ahead we stopped attacking."

Forward Carlos Tevez also played down thoughts of a big score.

"If we start thinking about scoring a lot of goals, we're going down the wrong path," he said.

"The first thing we have to think about is playing a good game."
