Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to sign new 3 year deal in January

07 December 2013 - 05:25

Arsene Wenger is close to agreeing terms on a new 3 year contract at Arsenal and is expected to sign the deal sometime in January. The Frenchman and his club have been locked in talks for over a year and discussions now appear to be drawing to a positive close.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The Frenchman has always insisted that he remains committed to his project at Arsenal and, with just six months remaining on his current contract, the club have been busy trying to persuade Wenger to sign a new deal.

As Arsenal have started the season in convincing fashion and currently sit four points ahead of their nearest rivals in the Premier League, Wenger will now sit down and agree terms on a contract that will see him stay with the Gunners until at least 2017.

Reports indicate that the new contract will be worth a massive £24 million for Wenger over the next three years. Wenger has recently insisted that he remains very relaxed about his contract situation at Arsenal and that he would sign the contract when he is ready.

However, according to several reports, he is now certain to sign the deal and the announcement will be made some time in January.
