07 December 2013 - 12:17

Manchester City are set to battle it out with Barcelona for the signing of Real Sociedad goalkeeper Claudio Bravo during the winter transfer window.

  • Chelsea handed big injury boost for Bayern clash
  • Fernandes unhappy with Man Utd role under Amorim

  • City are monitoring the talented Chilean goalie, as rumours continue to surround the long-term future of England International Joe Hart, while the Spanish champions Barcelona are yet to sign a suitable replacement for veteran star Victor Valdes, who is set to leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old Chilean International played a key role in Real Sociedad's qualification for the Champions League last term, and has played in all games for the club this season.

Bravo, who is contracted with the La Liga outfit until 2017,has a release clause of £25m, but Barcelona and Manchester City will be confident of acquiring the player's services at a much lower fee.
