Arsenal have shown interest in signing the Swiss defender after impressive performances in the champions league.
The 20 year old coveted by a clubs such as PSG and Bayer Leverkusen has indicated that he would like to join Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Arsenal's defence has been top knotch this season, but they have been resting their erstwhile captain Thomas Vermaelen who has indicated his desire to fight for a place in the Belgian national side. The addition of the Basel star would certainly add options to the centre-back position to go all the way till the end of summer.
The belgian star will be available for a sum of £6,000,000 and has capped for the Swiss national side twelve times.
