 Arsenal have shown interest in signing the Swiss defender after impressive performances in the champions league.

The 20 year old  coveted by a clubs such as PSG and Bayer Leverkusen has indicated that he would like to join Premier League leaders Arsenal.<br />

Arsenal's defence has been top knotch this season, but  they have been resting their erstwhile captain Thomas Vermaelen who has indicated his desire to fight for a place in the Belgian national side. The addition of the Basel star would certainly add options to the centre-back position to go all the way till the end of summer. <br />

The belgian star will be available for a sum of  £6,000,000 and has capped for the Swiss national side twelve times.<br />
