Aston Villa monitoring Nicklas Bendtner

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, who has been told he can leave in the January transfer window, is a surprise target for Aston Villa. The Villans are looking to bring in another striker to put pressure on first choice forward Benteke.

  • Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, who has been told he can leave in the January transfer window, is a surprise target for Aston Villa. The Villans are looking to bring in another striker to put pressure on first choice forward Benteke.Bendtner, who has played a bit part role for Arsenal so far this season, has struggled to force his way into the Gunners' first team ahead of Olivier Giroud. Despite that, Arsene Wenger decided to keep the player as a backup striker as he was unable to complete a transfer for a forward last summer.With the return of Lukas Podolski and with Theo Walcott eager to play up front again, Arsenal are now considering letting the Danish international Bendtner leave.Aston Villa are closely monitoring the player and will be readying their first offer in the coming weeks.
