Aspas wanted by Swansea City

Swansea's Michu urges club to sign Iago Aspas

19 December 2013 - 12:41

Swansea star striker Michu has urged his club to make a move for Spanish striker Iago Aspas. The forward is currently out of favour at Liverpool and is reportedly seeking a move away from Anfield this January.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Michu has requested that the club consider a loan move for Aspas, as the player has been told he is free to make a move elsewhere.

Michu said of a move for Aspas: "We [the Welsh club's Spanish players] are hoping he can come here on loan. It would be a pleasure to play with him. Iago has had injuries, but he has quality. He deserves to play in the Premier League.

"He has been unlucky. At Liverpool, they have Luis Suarez and [Daniel] Sturridge, who have scored a lot of goals. Suarez is, along with Diego Costa and others, one of the best strikers in Europe."
