Tim Sherwood still eyes Tottenham manager's job

19 December 2013 - 12:46

Tottenham's stand in manager Tim Sherwood is hopeful that, despite the various names linked with the vacant managerial position at White Hart Lane, he is still in the running to become the club's new manager.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • With the likes of Frank De Boer and Fabio Capello linked with the role, Sherwood has put his name into the hat and refuses to rule out the vacant position going to himself. Last night a shock 2-1 defeat to West Ham in the Capital One Cup appears to have jeopardised his chances of a long term contract, but Sherwood remains upbeat: "I've got to be in the frame, but it's not my decision. I think the chairman and the football club need to make the correct decision and find the manager who's best compatible to take this football club forward.

"It would have to be right for me and right for the football club. There are a lot of big names being bandied about to take this job."
