Swansea manager hints at Iago Aspas loan move

25 December 2013 - 04:49

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has admitted that Iago Aspas is considered as a top transfer target for the Wales outfit in January.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Aspas has failed to showcase his talents efficiently at the Reds since his move from Celta Vigo in the summer, and Sky Sports claims that the Swans boss will make a move to sign the talented Spaniard on a temporary basis during the New Year.

Laudrup has admitted of his interest on Aspas, but believes that it will be a tough task to sign him on loan in January following an injury to Daniel Sturridge, which has made the team to rely on star striker Luis Suarez for the sole striker role in the formation.

"He is an interesting player, he was on our list in the summer. He is at Liverpool and they have injuries too. Daniel Sturridge is out at the moment, so apart from Luis Suarez they don't have many forwards right now so I don't think that will happen right now," He said.

Aspas is yet to score a goal for the Reds this season.
