Paris St Germain manager Laurent Blanc has officially confirmed his long standing interest in French international midfielder Yohan Cabaye. The Newcastle star has been a revelation at St. James' Park this year and has been linked with a £25 million move back to his homeland.
Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic is also a target for PSG and Blanc is considering a move for Yohan Cabaye as well. However, Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is reluctant to sell a player who has brought so much value this year for their campaign and has slapped an audacious £40 million price tag on the midfielder.
Blanc spoke to the press about his interest in the duo: "Yes, Cabaye and Pjanic are both our targets for January, it is true."
Newcastle director of football Joe Kinnear has been instructed to keep an eye out for a replacement midfielder just in case PSG have an offer for Cabaye accepted.
