Chelsea are believed to be keen on swaping striker Fernando Torres with Manchester United's Robin Van Persie during the summer transfer window.
Latest reports reveal that the Blues boss Jose Mourinho has been a long-term admirer of the Netherlands star, and is looking at the prospect of landing the former Arsenal man, with Torres going the other way at the end of the season.
Van Persie is understood to be disillusioned by life at Old Trafford, following the club's below-par season in the Premier League so far under manager David Moyes.
However, the West London club are likely to face competition from Arsenal, who have been rumoured to be interested in the 30-year-old's services in recent weeks.
