Tottenham and West Ham battled to a 1-1 draw - but not without drama and surprise - in this fantastic London derby. Last year Spurs edged the Hammers 4-3, but this time around West Ham looked like they should've grabbed all three points. An injury time penalty save from Robert Green kept the Hammers in the game.
Carlton Cole put the home side ahead side-footing the ball home after Spurs defender Younes Kaboul was too casual at the back and hit Luis Boa Morte while trying to make a long ball.
The Portuguese got hold of the ball and set up Nolberto Solano, who found Cole in the box with lot of space around and the Hammers had taken the lead in the 20th minute against the run of play.
Spurs looked like they had a case for a penalty kick as Robbie Keane went down under contact from Hammers goalkeeper Robert Green in the 41st minute after the Spurs skipper had broken through the off-side trap, but Mike Riley stood firm amidst calls for a penalty from the north Londoners.
Spurs got back on level terms in the 67th minute when defender Michael Dawson rose high and sent home a looping header off a free-kick by Jermaine Jenas from left channel.
George McCartney could've wrapped up the game at the end if not for a fantastic goalline clearance from Jenas, and Paul Robinson kept Spurs in the game when saving a Dean Ashton volley.
Then, the drama all came in the last minute as Spurs were gifted a penalty. Up stepped Jermain Defoe against his old club, but Robert Green made a sterling save to his left and hit the ball onto the post.
A fantastic game in a frenetic London derby.
