Newcastle United eye move for Lyon striker

Lacazette attracts Magpies interest

Newcastle United eye move for Lyon striker

01 April 2014 - 22:57

Newcastle United are reportedly considering making a move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in the summer, according to sources in France.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The Magpies boss Alan Pardew is expected to make a couple of signings during the summer transfer window, as Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong will see their loan deals expire at the end of the season.

This would leave the Magpies short in options upfront considering the fact that veteran striker Shola Ameobi could also leave the Tyneside on a free transfer.

Lacazette has been in great form for the French Ligue 1 outfit throughout the season, and could be the perfect player to push the club towards an European qualification spot next season.

The 22-year-old has notched up 16 goals for Lyon in all competitions this season.
