Real Madrid are understood to have sent scouts to monitor the progress of Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.
The Portuguese international, who is widely regarded as one of the best youth talents to come out of the European continent, has attracted interest from a host of top clubs since the turn of the year, with Manchester United being strongly linked with his services.
According to A Bola, Los Blancos scouted the 22-year-old in Sporting's 2-0 win over Gil Vicente during the weekend and may likely involve themselves in a bidding war with the Red Devils for his signature in the summer.
Carvalho currently has a release clause in the region of £38m.
