Athletic Bilbao have rebuffed an offer of around £29m from Manchester United for star midfielder Ander Herrera, according to the club's official twitter page.
The 24-year-old failed to move to the Red Devils last summer, as the club misinterpreted their valuation for the Spain midfielder.
With the appointment of Louis van Gaal as manager, the Mancunian giants have once again resumed their pursuit for Herrera, and reports had revealed that the former Premier League champions were close to sealing a deal for the player's services. However, Bilbao have announced in their twitter page that they have knocked back an offer from the Red Devils- presumed to be in the region of £29m.
Herrera made 35 appearances for the Basque club last season.
