Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made Newcastle defender Mathieu Debuchy his preferred replacement for Bacary Sagna. The French full back has previously hinted that he would like to leave St James' Park.
Since Bacary Sagna has departed for Man City, the Gunners are short of a right back with only Carl Jenkinson available for Arsene Wenger.
The North London side have regularly deployed scouts to monitor Debuchy over the past two months and with Arsenal set to miss out on the signing of Serge Aurier, Debuchy is the new favourite to fill the right back vacancy at the Emirates.
