Tottenham bids for Negredo

Negredo to Tottenham?

02 July 2014 - 12:51

Tottenham is reportedly planning a bid for Manchester City star Negredo.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Mauricio Pochettino, the new coach at Tottenham who took over from Tim Sherwood, is ready to go up against another bidder Atletico Madrid to strengthen the team's attacking options for the season.

Roberto Soldado, who was bought from Valencia for a record fee of £26 million, has been in poor form and has not played to his potential at Spurs. Emmanuel Adebayor too has been inconsistent in his performances.

In the wake of this, Argentinian Pochettino, is eyeing the transfer of Negredo to boost Tottenham attack. Negredo, who is nicknamed "The Beast", scored 23 goals last season playing only 21 league matches due to being sidelined due to an injury.

Negredo was signed for a four year deal with Manchester City for £16.4 million with add-ons and had a terrific season with City.
