Manchester United to exchange Kagawa for Hummels?

06 July 2014 - 13:30

Manchester United are reportedly willing to let Shinji Kagawa go in an exchange for the services of German Mats Hummels.

  • Bournemouth have bid accepted to Chelsea to sign centre-back
  • Enzo Maresca confirms Chelsea injury blow vs West Ham

  • Dortmund's Mats Hummels will be the perfect signing for Louis Van Gaal as he is the player who can fill the void left by Nemanja Vidic.

Shinji Kagawa, who played for Borussia Dortmund before he joined United, will be offered as a part of a deal Jurgen Klopp's side.

Mats Hummels hit the crucial goal in the quarterfinal clash against France which Germany eventually won 1-0, courtesy of a great header. His World Cup performances were enough to convince Van Gaal that he is the kind of defender that United needs.

Hummels still has three years left on his contract, and with Barcelona and Manchester United showing interest in signing the player, the chances might favour the Red Devils because of the option of Dortmund getting back Kagawa.

With Thomas Vermaelen another name linked with United, Louis Van Gaal seem to be going all out to sign new defenders in the transfer window.
