Chelsea to sell John Obi Mikel this month

17 July 2014 - 07:09

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is planning a summer clear out having wrapped up deals for Filipe Luis, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, with Nigeria international John Obi Mikel set for a move away from Stamford Bridge.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • Several teams have already contacted the Blues regarding Mikel's availability, with Turkish side Galatasaray, French giants Monaco and Spanish team Atletico Madrid all in the running.

Jose Mourinho has apparently decided that Mikel is now surplus to requirements and that the 27-year-old can leave the Blues for a fee of around £9.5 million.

Chelsea are also set to sell Fernando Torres with the Spaniard known to favour a return to his homeland.
