Liverpool are regarded as front-runners to secure the services of Queens Park Ranger striker Loic Remy after Arsenal cooled down their interest in the player due to his high wage demands.
The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be a huge fan of the French international, and many expected the former Marseille star to join the club as a back-up to leading striker Olivier Giroud.
However, the Sun claims that the Gunners pulled out of the deal despite agreeing £8million fee with the Hoops, as Remy failed to take a pay-cut on his £80,000-a-week wages.
It is now understood that Liverpool will sign the French international this summer, having already made an approach for the player's services.
