Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba will reportedly re-sign for Chelsea on a one-year deal next week, according to French newspaper L'Equipe.

The talented striker was a cult-hero during his time with the Blues, having scored 157 goals in 341 games for the club.

The 36-year-old is currently a free-agent following the expiry of his contract at Galatasaray earlier this summer, and this linked him with a possible return to Stamford Bridge.

L'Equipe claims that the African star has been convinced to join the Blues by manager Jose Mourinho, who has offered him a player-coach role at the club.
