The highly rated attacking midfielder, 23, joined Shakhtar in 2010 and is refusing to return to the Ukraine amidst concerns about his safety. The 5 foot 7 player has already been linked with a transfer to France, with Lille and Lyon in the race to snap the Brazilian up this summer.

With Tottenham set to sell Gylfi Sigurdsson to Swansea City, Spurs are looking for a replacement and have decided that Douglas Costa represents the best value for money.
