Manchester United could be the new favourites to sign talented Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria this summer after a proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain has fallen through, according to the Sun.
The Argentine international has been strongly linked with an exit from Madrid this summer after the club’s recent signing of Colombian World Cup star James Rodriguez from Monaco, with PSG previously looking the likeliest to sign him for around £45 million.
However, the club’s need to adhere to Uefa’s Financial Fair Play laws means that they are currently in need of selling players before they can buy more, having already spent around £50 million on signing David Luiz from Chelsea earlier in the summer.
It has also been suggested that the club could look to offload the likes of Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi in a bid to raise funds, but for now they have fallen behind in the race for Di Maria, with United back in the race.
