Hull City edge closer to Carl Jenkinson loan deal?

Hull City have made significant progress in their efforts to secure a loan deal to sign Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson. With a move for Calum Chambers set to be completed this week, the Gunners are ready to let Jenkinson leave on a short term deal.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Jenkinson has so far struggled to force his way into the Gunners' long term plans and the arrival of Mathieu Debuchy to replace Bacary Sagna means that Jenkinson could be playing as third choice right back at the Emirates next year.

Hull City have apparently already contacted Arsenal with regards to Jenkinson's availability and received positive news.

"I had a conversation with Arsenal about four or five weeks ago to see if it was possible and apparently so, it might be," Hull City manager Steve Bruce said.

"We'll look at that situation but we haven't had confirmation from Arsenal. I would hate to speak out of turn but we are led to believe the kid might be available - and if he is, then of course we would be interested."
