Liverpool centre back Tiago Ilori to join Bordeaux on loan

Tiago Ilori will spend next season on loan at French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux. The Portuguese defender is considered a bright prospect for the future at Liverpool but requires first team exposure.

The defender, who joined Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon just over one year ago, has so far struggled to force his way into the Anfield club's first team plans and will be allowed to leave on loan.

Intense competition from the likes of Dejan Lovren, Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel means that Ilori is still some way off of the first team and will now spend next season on loan at Bordeaux. The club will pay 400,000 euros for Ilori's services.
