Maarten Stekelenburg joins Monaco on loan

French club Monaco have wrapped up a deal for Dutch goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg on loan for the upcoming campaign. The shot stopper has been told he can leave Fulham for the next 12 months.

  • Stekelenburg failed to live up to expectations at Craven Cottage and decided to swap England for France and yesterday completed a deal to join Monaco. The French club had hoped to sign Victor Valdes but missed out on a deal for the Spanish keeper.

    Monaco also hold first option on a permanent deal for Stekelenburg at the end of this campaign.
