Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus has reportedly snubbed a £25m offer from English giants Manchester United this summer.
The German international’s future with Jurgen Klopp’s side has been under constant speculation over the past few months, with a number of clubs lining up to sign the 25-year-old.
The attacking midfielder, who was one of the top targets for the Red Devils this season, had also been linked to Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, besides Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.
He was also rumoured to have been in talks with reigning La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, but the Red and Whites’ president Enrique Cerezo feels that Reus will stay put with the German club after having already turned down a big money offer from the Louis van Gaal-led side.
“I don't know where the Marco Reus rumour came from. It's a player who, at this time, is impossible to us”, he was quoted as saying by the Express.
“He had an offer for a lot of money from Manchester United and he has not gone. We will not sign him with a lesser offer”, Cerezo added.
Reus, who joined the Black and Yellows from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012, has made 62 league appearances for the Signal Iduna Park outfit since his debut. He gave the highest number of assists in the Bundesliga last season, and the club will be keen on holding on to him after already losing star-striker Robert Lewandowski to Bayern Munich this season.
