Argentinian midfielder Angel Di Maria has handed in a transfer request. The 26-year-old, long linked with a move to Man Utd, is pushing for a move away from Spain before the start of the new season.
Di Maria, who was influential during Real's course to the Champions League final and success, has been linked with a 50 million euro move to the Premier League.
It is understood that Real are ready to listen to offers and that James Rodriguez had been purchased as a replacement for the former Benfica man.
"Di Maria asked to go in the summer and has rejected an offer from the club," Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed.
"The player has to look for a solution. If when the transfer market closes he's still here, he will work with us like last season and there will be no problem."
