Barcelona are rumoured to be preparing a bid to sign German winger Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund before their transfer ban comes into enforcement.

  • The Catalan club’s plea against the ban was upheld by FIFA yesterday, thereby barring them from signing any new players in the next two transfer windows.

The Spanish giants, who can still bring in players to the Camp Nou in the current transfer season, are now hoping to make the most of the remaining 11 days, before the window shuts down on September 1.

Though the Blaugrana are taking the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, they might miss out on signing the 25-year-old next year, when his £20 million release clause becomes active, and are hence keen on closing a contract now.

According to reports in Sport, the Spanish side are considering a deal that would see Reus being loaned back to the Bundesliga outfit for the remainder of this season, after which he would join the La Liga club next summer.
