Aston Villa are confident that a deal can be agreed with Manchester United on transfer deadline day to sign England international midfielder Tom Cleverley. The out of favour centre midfielder has been in talks with Villa over a move.

Aston Villa\'s number two, Roy Keane, has been working hard to persuade the United man to move to Birmingham and talks have now reached an advanced stage.

United coach Louis van Gaal has been unimpressed with the player since arriving back in July and will wield the axe tomorrow as a reported four players could be heading for the exit door.

It is understood that Villa will pay around 7 million pounds to sign Cleverley.
