AC Milan will reportedly offer a contract extension to Netherlands midfielder Nigel de Jong, according to talkSPORT.
The talented midfielder had been heavily linked with a summer switch to Manchester United, with manager Louis van Gaal keen on a reunion with his former player.
It is believed that United will comeback with a renewed offer for the Dutch enforcer in January, having failed to persuade Milan into selling off their prized asset on transfer deadline day.
TalkSPORT claims that Milan want to assure the player's stay at the San Siro by offering a new long-term deal.
The Dutchman previously plyed his trade for Manchester City in the Premier League.
