Manchester United are apparently leading the chase for Atletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte, according to The Express.
The French defender has been recently linked with a move to the Premier League, with the Gunners keen on securing his services.
However, The Express claims that United have agreed to pay Laporte's £32m buy-out clause, and are in pole position to land his signature in January.
The report also suggests that United could sign Roma's Kevin Strootman in the New Year, as they look unlikely to agree a deal for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
United visit arch rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
