North Londoners to go Dutch

North Londoners to go Dutch

12 December 2007 - 17:24

Arsenal and Tottenham are weighing up a January transfer move for Ajax's international goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg. The keeper has played over 100 times for his club.

  • Chelsea have held talks for Ayyoub Bouaddi
  • Chelsea want Newcastle star to replace Cucurella?
  • Spurs have had severe goalkeeper problems this season with several poor performances from Paul Robinson in goal, and are expected to put a bid in for the Dutch international. The 6' 5" keeper is expected to cost the London club between £5 million and £6 million.

Stekelenburg is in competition with Edwin van der Sar in Holland for the number 1 international spot, but Stekelenburg is considered by many in Europe as the best up and coming keeper in football.
